I’m going to start this week’s Mediabase Milestones with two songs that actually reached milestones last week. One was missed by me and one was missed due to a quirk with Mediabase. First up is Chris Richardson’s who is singing the hook on Tyga’s “Far Away”. The song has been on the Rhythmic charts for a while (currently in the top 15), but it finally charted on Pop last week. The song will be going for adds in the format on October 4th. My apologies to his fans for missing it last week.
The second song is from S9’s Casey James. His debut single off his debut album has reached top 50 on Country. “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” was actually 49th on the Country chart last week, but we couldn’t see it on AllAccess. The Mediabase Country chart rankings are based on a formula involving spins, audience impressions and some bizarro fudge factor. AllAccess sometimes misses songs on the bottom of the chart (it will be reporting the 51+ song and missing some of the songs in the 40s) because it seems to just grab the top 50 spinners. This is Casey’s first appearance on the Mediabase charts.
Our only milestones from this week is from a song that will be appearing in the Milestone section of these posts for several weeks. This week, Kelly’s “Mr. Know It All” reached top 15 on HAC and should be reaching top 10 soon with a huge bullet for that format. Meanwhile, Her duet with Jason Aldean fell off the Pop chart.
