Monday Morning Mediabase Update – Nov 28-Dec 4

Four milestones this week as we kick of December.

Camila Cabello rose to fame as part of Fifth Harmony from the US X-Factor franchise. While the group is still actively making music, Camila has also been branching off on her own doing duets. This week, her collaboration with MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) goes top 20 on Pop and top 15 on Rhythmic.

Voice winner Jordan Smith steals into town and snatches up all the Who Hash with his latest offering – “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”. The AC format is switching over to Christmas songs and this one has just gone top 15.

Lauren Daigle is also finding success with Christmas songs, but on CAC. Her version of “What Child is This” just went top 20.

Finally, we should mention that Niall Horan has returned to the top 15 on Pop this week with his debut solo song “This Town”.

Pentatonix has two albums in the BB200 top 10 – “A Pentatonix Christmas” at 2nd and “That’s Christmas to Me” at 7th. The Weeknd has the biggest album of the week opening with the third highest numbers of the year and only the second artist to generate more than 100K in SEAs in a single week (Drake did it three weeks with “Views” – what is it with those lads from Ontario?)
