Monday Morning Mediabase Update: May 4-10

Two Milestones to herald this Monday Morning.

Carrie Underwood gathers herself another top 10 Country song this week. Her “Little Toy Guns” is the second new single from her Greatest Hits album. It is also the second to go top 10. Carrie is one of the few women in Country who can consistently get top 10 hits in the format.

From the Canadian franchise of the show, we have Carly Rae Jepsen. She came to international fame when her “Call Me Maybe” became a youtube sensation. After a little resistence, radio jumped on the band wagon. She had a follow-up hit featured on Owl City’s “Good Time”, but she has been labelled as a One Hit Wonder. Will “I Really Like You” finally shed her of that title? While twitter loves the song and it has done better than its airplay on iTunes, the radio pick-up has been on the slow side. This week it hits top 30 on Pop. Will that gather more momentum?

Jordin’s “Double Tap” returns to the Urban chart.
