Monday Morning Mediabase Update: June 27-July 3

This week’s milestones features a sixth place finisher from the fifth season a fifth place finisher from the sixth season and the original recipe Idol.

Okay, we don’t really know if Chris Richardson finished 5th or 6th in Season 6 since it was a double elimination night (though he is traditionally thought of as being 5th), but I couldn’t resist the headline. In any event, Chris is flying up the Rhythmic chart with his second milestone in two weeks. He sings the hook for Tyga’s “Far Away” which is currently in the top 40 on that chart.

From the season before, Kellie Pickler’s lastest single has reached top 40 on Country. “Tough” is the debut single off of her 3rd album which does not currently have a name or a release date. This is her 8th single to reach top 40 in this format.

The first winner and first Kelly is also due to release an album shortly, but her duet with Jason Aldean is keeping up her profile on several charts. Though originally marketted to Country, the song has crossed over to all three mainstream charts (Pop, HAC and AC) and hit top 10 on AC this week. This is the second format on which “Don’t You Wanna Stay” has reached top 10.

Chris Sligh returns to the top 20 on CAC.
