Five milestones to celebrate this Monday Morning.

Melanie Martinez is back on the airplay charts. She’s long been a trooper at staying on the BB200 with her albums, but airplay has not been as consistent for this unique artist whose music is harder to classify into a neat slot. Melanie got noticed by the public while on Adam Levine’s team on “The Voice”. Her “Play Date” appears on the Top 50. Surprisingly, it is from her 2015 album “Cry Baby” (deluxe edition) rather than her 2019 “K-12”. The reason for this late rise is because of its popularity on TikTok. It is a streaming phenom.

Over on the Country front, we have another single debuting from one of Adam’s team members (Adam stole him from Usher). Morgan Wallen just finished achieving number one in that format with “Chasin’ You” and “More Than my Hometown” is from his upcoming album debuting this week.

Gabby Barrett from American Idol moves into the top 40 of Top 40 (Pop) with “I Hope”. While Gabby is a Country artist, her first hit (it went to number one on Country) is now crossing-over to mainstream with a bang. It is top 40 on Pop and top 30 on HAC and AC.

Staying with Pop, we have X-Factor’s Harry Styles hitting top 20 with “Watermelon Sugar”. The song also debuts in the top 40 of AC while being in the top 30 on HAC. This is the second single from his “Fine Line” album to have airplay success. The first single “Adore You” won’t leave airplay as it has been in the top 5 on Pop and HAC for a while and top 10 on AC.
