Chase Rice from “Survivor: Nicaragua” may not have topped his tribe, but this week he is number one. “Eyes on You” from his “Lambs and Lions” is his first song to top the Mediabase Country chart. He came very close with “Gonna Wanna Tonight” which peaked at number 2.
Morgan Wallen from “The Voice” is waiting his turn for his second Country top charter with “Whisky Glasses”. The song moved into the top 5 this week. Debuting on Country is “Southbound” from Idol winner Carrie Underwood. It enters the chart at 46th.
Winning the season before Carrie is Fantasia. She launches “Enough” into the top 40 on UAC. This will likely be the debut single for her next album.
The “Uglydolls” movie was released this weekend and features a song from OG Idol Winner Kelly Clarkson. “Broken and Beautiful” achieves two milestones this week. It goes top 20 on HAC and debuts on AC in the top 40. The movie opened 4th with an estimated $8.5M.
Our final Idol achieving a milestone this week is Danny Gokey from Season 8. “Haven’t Seen You Yet” moves into the top 5 on CAC. This is the debut single from his latest album.
Normani from the US version of X-Factor collaborated with Sam Smith on “Dancing with a Stranger”. The single moves into the top 5 of HAC. It is also 2nd on Pop, 17th on UAC and 21st on AC.
After Gabby Barrett performed her single “I Hope” on Idol last night, the song is 23rd on iTunes this morning.
