Seven milestones coinciding with the start of American Idol’s latest season.

Niall Horan from X-Factor UK is back on the charts. The former One Direction member is about to become a coach on The Voice and is releasing his third album “The Show”. “Heaven” is the lead single and this week it debuts top 40 on Pop and top 50 on HAC. His previous album was released March 13, 2020 which was the week of the widespread COVID shutdowns.

The Voice alumni Morgan Wallen achieves 4 milestones this week with three different songs. His home format is Country and “Thought You Should Know” goes to number one on the chart while “One Thing at a Time” debuts. “Last Night” which previously went to number one on Country debuts this week on Pop and HAC. Meanwhile, his 2020 album “Dangerous: The Double Album” is 4th on the BB200 with 44K in equivalent album sales (udown 4% from last week). This marks the 107th week the album has been in the top 10 on the BB200 which is the third greatest number of weeks of any album. Only the “Sound of Music” (109 weeks) and “My Fair Lady” (173 weeks) have been there longer – can Morgan defeat Julie Andrews? Probably the “Sound of Music”, but “My Fair Lady” is more than a year away from tumbling.

Chris Daughtry from Idol gets a second milestone in as many weeks. His cover of “Separate Ways” has gone top 15 on Active Rock.
