Who do I think will leave this week? I have no clue. The only contestants who I feel really confident are safe are David Archuleta and David Cook. Syesha Mercado had a strong performance, and postive comments from the judges, but she went first this week. Still, I think there’s a good chance she’ll be safe. Carly Smithson performed second to last and got excellent comments from the judges, including Simon. But, perhaps people felt it was safe not to vote for her this week, and she could be a surprise boot. Despite a weak performance, performing early in the lineup and negative critiques from the judges, Jason Castro may still be safe this week. Randy and Simon’s unusually harsh criticism may have created a backlash–even casual voters may have thrown a few pity votes Jason’s way. His fan base was certainly kicked into high gear. Maybe Jason will live to see another week. Brooke White broke down completely. She hasn’t had a good performance in weeks. It’s really her time to go. But, between her vulnerability, and Simon and Randy sticking up for her, she could squeak by.
What to do? I think Brooke should leave She gets all my points in this week’s pool.
