American Idol alum Leah Marlene’s new song “Feel Like” an ode to her “Gay Love”
Starting with the first date of her 2023 tour, singer-songwriter Leah Marlene began teasing a new song. She’d play bits and pieces of it every couple of days. Now, she has revealed that “Feel Like” will be available for streaming and download on May 12. Presave is available now.
The American Idol season 20 Top 3 singer’s latest tease includes the hashtags #songofthesummer #indieartist #alternativemusic #wlw #lgbtq #gaylove alongside a video of Leah romping around all googly-eyed with an equally smitten red headed lady. Quite obviously a new love inspired the breezy and romantic “Feel Like.” She also, for the first time, explicitly nods being a part of the LGBTQ community. Not that she was hiding it really! But she’s right out there for the first time with the love vibes.
The lyrics go: “You make me feel like driving around four windows down on a sunny day/ You make me feel just like a kid that’s dancing in the summer rain/ You make me feel like I can be all parts of me and that’s OK/ You make me feel like”
These two are too adorable.
“LGBTQ+ happiness is everything”
In the comments, fans expressed excitement–especially her LGBTQ followers.
“Yeeeees!!! Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing in the visibility!!” says a commenter.
Another fan wrote, “Ugh so thrilled, I was holding out hope for this when you were on American idol!!!!!!”
“LGBTQ+ happiness is everything,” writes another.
Season 20 alum, Allegra Miles, who recently released her own ode to LGBTQ love posted a a string of excited emojis.
From another clip posted earlier this week: Fans who were paying attention caught on. “I WAS ALWAYS SILENTLY WONDERING THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY,” a fan wrote in comments. Another wrote, “I’m so Happy to see you living out loud.”
