Oh no. Kellie Pickler was feeling fine during her A Capitol Fourth dress rehearsal performance on Tuesday in Washington DC. But when it was time for the American Idol singer and Dancing with the Stars winner to take the stage for the live broadcast, she was too ill to sing.
Fortunately, Kellie’s dress rehearsal performance of “Small Town Girl,” the title track from her 2006 debut and
the classic, “This Land is Your Land” were good to go. PBS aired the tape with a disclaimer posted on social media.
Unfortunately Kellie Pickler became ill earlier today and as much as she wanted to be here, her doctor advised against it, Kellie’s dress rehearsal last night was fantastic and we wanted to share it with you. Please note, after the video of her performance concludes, we will return to the live show and everything else you are watching tonight on A Capitol Fourth is being broadcast live. We know you’ll join us and wishing Kellie a speedy recovery.
Host John Stamos also made an announcement. Additionally, a gigantic banner ran all through Kellie’s performance (was that really necessary?) Anyway…hope Kellie is feeling better soon. Here she is singing “Small Town Girl” and “This Land is Your Land” on Tuesday night’s A Capitol Fourth dress rehearsal.
