Headlines: Jennifer Hudson to Ex: Get a Job, Jackie Evancho Trump Regrets

Jennifer Hudson Refusing to Pay for Ex David Otunga’s Home in Nasty Custody Battle – Jennifer Hudson says her baby daddy should not reap the benefits of free money just because he had a kid with a celebrity and she wants a judge not to order her to cover his housing costs. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Hudson’s court battle with ex David Otunga is getting nasty over support he believes she should pay him. The singer trashes her ex’s claim he was the primary caregiver the whole time, claiming Otunga was often on the road with the WWE. The “Dreamgirls” star says she has no duty to support Otunga and “denies that the child support should extend to housing subsidies for David when the parties were never married.” – Read more at The Blast

Former American Idol contestant Effie Passero has advice for Ryan Hammond

Ryan Hammond isn’t the only Modesto singer who made a big splash on American Idol. Last year, Effie Passero, just like Hammond, made it to the top 24 before being eliminated. Effie is doing really well, singing voice overs and background work (She sang behind Barbra Streisand last year).

Danny Gokey Talks New Album, ‘American Idol’ Memories & Christian Music Misconceptions – My first record deal that I came out the gate with was actually country [at 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville in 2009], and I completely failed at it! I sold a bunch of albums, but I believe that was from the American Idol crowd. When the music went to radio, no one really believed it, because I was a soulful singer on American Idol. We’re always going to be judged before we’re known, but the goal is to reach beyond that and write music about hope and entertainment — that’s what I do. If [being branded] as a Christian artist is affecting me negatively, then no. But to some people of the faith, it really means a lot to them for me to carry that label. – Read more at Billboard

Jackie Evancho Regrets singing for Trump, Blames her Team – In 2017, she sang the National Anthem at President Donald Trump’s inauguration, gaining name recognition among new listeners while alienating some others who saw her decision to perform as offensive to her LGBTQ fans. Evancho says she regrets the damage caused by her appearance at the inauguration, a decision she says was made collectively by her team and not solely by her. “I definitely do have some things that I really wish that I could go back and change or fix, especially with my influence with the LGBTQ community,” she said. “Because ever since I sang at the inauguration, they feel like I’m not with them, but I absolutely am and I’m frustrated with the fact that it changed their opinions of me. And I just want them to know that I do advocate for them wholeheartedly and I support them completely.” “It was (difficult to navigate),” she added. “It wasn’t really my decision, it was a decision made by my team, so I kind of just had to go with it.” – Oh.
