Carrie Underwood, Diana Degarmo and Ace Young are some of the celebrities set to appear on the 2012 Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Labor Day weekend entertainment special beginning at 8/7 CT from Hollywood, Nashville and New York. Check your local TV  listings.

Kristin Chenoweth will guest host the premiere of Anderson Live, the retooled Anderson Cooper afternoon talk show. Kellie Pickler is also set to co-host at a date TBA. Other future co-hosts include Goldie Hawn, Kelly Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Howie Mandel, Erin Andrews, and D.L. Hughley.

Singer Danny Gokey Says ‘It Could Be Time for a Change’ in the White House – “I’ve never been a student of politics, but my wife and I have differing views, so it has made me really look at what I have always believed,” Gokey told Patch shortly after performing on the floor of the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night. “You know, we’re raised a certain way and we tend to believe things that our parents tell us. “This is the first time that I’ve really taken a hard look at our system, and I kind of am taking on a more active political viewpoint,” added the country singer from Milwaukee. “I just want a man who can lead our country and be good for our country,” he said. “I thought that having President (Barack) Obama elected to office was a really great moment in our country’s history, but it could be time for a change.” – Read more at Patch.com

Glee Newcomer Jacob Artist on Dancing Dreams, Rap Nightmares and New-Girl Drama – Jacob Artist’s acting career only began in earnest last year — with guest roles on Melissa & Joey and Nickelodeon’s How to Rock — so not surprisingly, he says he’s finding it a little surreal to have a recurring role as Jake Puckerman (younger half-brother of Mark Salling’s bad boy Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman) on Season 4 of Glee. “I was a fan of the show before I auditioned, so now every time I go to Paramount and we’re shooting, it’s like an absolute dream come true,” says Artist. – Read more at TVLine.com

‘X Factor’ U.K. Peak Audience Drops in Third Week – LONDON – British commercial broadcaster ITV1 drew as many as 9.7 million viewers Saturday night with the third episode of Simon Cowell’s X Factor – the show’s lowest figure season-to-date. X Factor, which is in its ninth season here, had a higher peak audience of 10.9 million last week, which was up from a peak audience of 9.9 million in its season debut. The latest Saturday figures, which include viewing on ITV1+1 that shows shows with a one-hour delay, still made the show the most-watched TV program of Saturday night in the U.K. Its peak audience was nearly 3 million ahead of the evening’s second-ranked show, according to ITV. – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter
