Stacy Francis Talks The X Factor: Astro’s Tantrum, ‘Purple Rain,’ and That Tom Cruise ‘Connection’

TVLINE | On the subject of how long you’ve been trying to get to this point in your career, there was a lot of online chatter after your audition aired, stories about some of the previous experience you’ve had as part of the R&B girl group Ex-Girlfriend, the Broadway experience you had. And there was some backlash, a feeling that you’d been presented as a housewife who was desperate for a chance in the business, when you’d already had these previous near-misses. How did you feel when those stories started coming out about you?
STACY FRANCIS | I felt like it was very unfair. First of all, [those experiences were] in the ’90s, and we’re sitting at 2011. And I honestly counted the days. I think there are 4,360 or so days in 12 years. And in that 12 years, I worked 57 of them. I worked 57 days.

‘Glee’ Official: Ricky Martin & Gloria Estefan Join ‘Spanglish Episode’

Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan are confirmed to be joining “Glee” for an episode in the new year, according to the show’s executive music producer Adam Anders.

Anders did admit that a crazy mash-up with Martin’s “Livin’ la Vida Loca” and Estefan’s “Conga” would be a cool route for the two superstars. According to earlier reports citing inside sources, Estefan will be playing Santana’s mother while Martin will be McKinley High’s new Spanish teacher in the episode.
