Crystal Bowesox’s car was broken into last night, and she tweeted about it. The first tweet was later deleted, probably because she blamed a fan? But it sounds like a garden variety break-in to me–probably didn’t know who she was, “Thanks to the jerk who smashed the rear window out on my car. You’re ruining this whole fan thing for everyone else. Goin 2crazy town, now.” Then, “No tweets in anger. Just a bit stunned. Just sayin…. That ain’t right. http://t.co/AlqP6SNg. Yes, it’s what’s not really left of my rear windshield. http://t.co.”/NxhEXKmu. Nothing stolen. Just smashed. No injuries. Just the window and my wallet.”

Ruben Studdard and Paris Bennett will perform at the Miss Black Minnesota pageant on Saturday at the Hopkins High School auditorium in Minnetonka, MN. More info HERE.

South Bronx Graffiti Crew Sues Over Jennifer Lopez Ad

A television commercial for Fiat starring Jennifer Lopez has triggered a copyright dispute involving a Bronx-based graffiti crew whose work is featured prominently in the ad.

“That’s enough,” crew member Wilfredo Feliciano told the New York Times. “This has happened to us in the past, and it’s not cool. We had to do something about it.” Stacey Richman, the graffiti artists’ lawyer, said that the advertising agency and Chrysler, a subsidiary of the Fiat group, have yet to respond.

Man pleads guilty in death of Pa. woman

TOMS RIVER — A 25-year-old Toms River man pleaded guilty Monday to eluding police and drunken driving in a plea bargain in which additional charges related to the hit-and-run death of an “American Idol’’ hopeful will be dismissed.

Heisler said other charges contained in an indictment against Bark will be dismissed as part of a plea bargain.

Those charges are aggravated manslaughter, death by auto and knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal accident. They related to the death of Alexis Cohen. 25, of Allentown, Pa., whose lifeless body was found in the road at Bay and Dupont avenues in Seaside Heights about an hour after Bark fled from the bicycle officers on Dupont Avenue.

‘The Sing Off’ winners Pentatonix on YouTube, Nick Lachey and recording an album

Frankly, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstie Maldonado, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola were still a little shell-shocked at their win, but managed to string enough sentences together to speak effusively about their competition during the show, finding their exquisite rhythm section, and recording their first album.

‘The Sing-Off’s’ Pentatonix on Going From Newly Formed Group to the Show’s Winners

It seems appropriate that the winners of NBC’s The Sing-Off’s third season was Arlington, Texas quintet Pentatonix. More than any other season of the a capella singing competition, Season 3 was characterized by a very diverse group of contenders who are trying new things with the genre. And, possibly, no other group in the competition better represented that innovation better than the five-person group who finds its musical inspiration in electronica like dubstep and garage house.

The Sing-Off’s Sara Bareilles on Selling A Cappella and Shows Like American Idol

Piano-playing singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles may not possess the ambiguously accented, syntactically challenged charm of Nicole Scherzinger, her predecessor as the female third of the judging trio on NBC’s a cappella competition The Sing-Off. But Bareilles has had plenty else going for her on the show’s third season, as an earthy, smart-girl foil to Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman. Bareilles came to The Sing-Off an a cappella veteran (she sang in UCLA’s Awaken) and says that hopping onboard the critically acclaimed, if poorly rated show was “a no-brainer for me” (the live finale airs tonight). Bareilles spoke to Vulture from Nashville (where she’s recording an EP with Folds) about her own dorky a cappella days, what’s so darn controversial about people singing without instruments, and shows like American Idol.

‘X Factor’s’ Nicole Scherzinger needs to stop playing it safe

Dear Nicole, I’m writing to you as a public service on behalf of everyone who watches “X Factor.” I genuinely like the show, but I’m worried about it because right now you’re dragging it down single-handedly.

You’re a judge and a mentor of the over-30s, but as of now you’re mostly just taking up space. We’re two months into “X Factor” and I can’t remember a single thing you’ve said. You rarely have anything to say when judging others, nor do you seem to have the same personality from day-to-day. One week you’re headbanging to a Josh Krajcik song, and the next you’re sitting there demurely like a soccer mom.

David Archuleta: the Eagle, the temple and the music

SALT LAKE CITY — It’s been a year since David Archuleta was the featured artist of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert.

Sporting a sweater and scarf, the 20-year-old “American Idol” star was in town last week to promote his Christmas concert CD and DVD, sign autographs, sit for some media interviews and enjoy Thanksgiving with his family before beginning a Christmas tour.

Polishing off a turkey sandwich during an interview, Archuleta described how honored he was to be invited to sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir he grew up admiring.
