The Voice 28 Knockouts: Aiden Ross & Liam Von Elbe deliver emotional performances for Team Niall
The Voice 28 Knockouts continue with episode 2 (November 3). In a new preview from NBC, Niall Horan sets up frontrunner Aiden Ross with fellow team member Liam Von Elbe.
On one hand, Liam very capably performs The Fray’s “Over My Head (Cable Car)” for a spot in the Playoffs. But uh oh. His opponent Aiden has been impressing the coaches and fans alike all season with emotional and impeccably delivered song choices. He nabbed a 4-chair turn for his Blind Audition. Next, he won his Battle over Ava Nat after they performed a sensational rendition of Niall’s “What a Time.” (Niall saved Ava, and she subsequently went on to win her Knockout).
It’s difficult to imagine Aiden NOT winning the Knockout after another beautifully crafted performance, this time of Billie Eilish’s “when the party’s over.” Every note, phrasing choice and use of his impressive range is perfection.
However, Liam also delivers, and going up against the typical The Voice contestant, Liam would have sailed into the Playoffs. Unfortunately this season’s Knockouts have NO steals and NO saves. The loser goes home. Everything is at stake!
Reba McEntire calls the pairing “entertaining.” She calls Liam’s vocal “great” and his tone “wonderful.” She describes Aiden’s range as “crazy.” When she reminds the two there are no sales and steals, Liam looks so sad!
Michael Bublé calls the performances “captivating” and states that the performances were so good, he threw his pen at Niall. “I threw it in anger, and a little bit of jealousy,” he admits.
Snoop believes Aiden Ross can WIN The Voice 28

“Brother Liam, you are growing and growing,” says Snoop Dogg. “You sounding bigger and better and getting more movement and more showmanship.” Snoop declares that when Aiden was singing, he was “stuck like a dump truck. I couldn’t even move. It put me in a trance.” Then Snoop predicted Aiden the winner of The Voice, based on the way he’s been singing.
Coach Niall admitted, “For the first time in my life, I’ve got nothing to say.” He calls Aiden’s performance a “masterclass” noting he’s not a showoff and makes great choices. Niall is proud of Liam’s story and the growth that he’s shown.
