Jennifer Hudson Discusses Family Members’ Murders: ‘I Could Have Been Home’

“He wanted me to come out to Florida with him instead of going to Chicago,” she told the magazine of Ortunga (with whom she has a son, David Jr.). “I flew out to see him; that’s why I’m still here. That’s one of the things that saved my life. Because I could have been home with my mum then.”

The actress, who will next appear as a nun in The Three Stooges, says the revelation is something she’s never shared.

James Durbin Reflects on Making Memories of a Beautiful Disaster

“The first metal song that I ever heard on the radio was “Holy Diver” by Dio,” said Durbin regarding his early musical tastes. “After that I just got so into it. To me, it was other-worldly. I really just enjoyed the hell out of it… I loved it. There was just something so different about it. I guess I just wasn’t a grunge kind of guy, I respect it, it just didn’t connect with me. In the 80’s there was so much fun. It’s that music that you could jump around to.

James Durbin’s ‘Memories of a Beautiful Disaster’: Track-By-Track (Exclusive)

“Looking at the artists that had been with Wind-Up — Evanescence, Seether, Creed, OAR, Civil Twilight – it felt like a family,” Durbin tells the Hollywood Reporter. “Judging by that and [the fact that] before we signed anything, they called me just to see how I was, that was a clear indication that it would be a perfect fit.”

The end result of that relationship is Memories of A Beautiful Disaster, out this week. Produced by Howard Benson in the same studio where he recorded My Chemical Romance’s game-changing debut Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, an extra-special honor for Durbin who’s a huge fan of Gerard Way and Co. Says Durbin: “It’s really cool to be there, where history was made. I hope I can make a little bit of history too.”

American Idol, Valley native Brooke White gives back to school that launched her career

MESA, AZ – Valley native and former American Idol contestant Brooke White is coming back home this holiday season to headline a benefit concert for the school that helped her get her start in music.

White will join 2010 Grammy Award winner Steve Vaus for a benefit concert on December 30th at the Mesa Arts Center. The school is encouraging the public to donate school tax credit dollars to help pay for music, dance, drama and athletic programs. Arizona tax laws allow individual tax payers a credit of up to $200 ($400 for married couples) for contributions made to schools.

Jennifer Lopez Admits to Faking NYC Locale in Fiat Ad

However, a spokesperson for the singer/actress confirmed to the New York Post that Lopez didn’t actually film any of her scenes in the city, and a body double was used for the East Coast work instead.

“Her portion was filmed in Los Angeles,” J.Lo’s spokesman, Mark Young, said, adding, “I don’t see a problem. There are many cases where films are done the same way.”

It’s no secret that Adam Levine has a hot body. What is surprising is that the 32-year-old Maroon 5 frontman hasn’t lifted a weight or been to the gym in five years.

“Weights made my neck thick, and I would be like, ‘I’m turning into a monster!'” Levine tells the December/January issue of Details. “Yoga takes what you have and molds and sculpts it, which is a much more natural way to look and feel.”

Howard Stern is in advanced talks with NBC to take Piers Morgan’s seat on “America’s Got Talent” — but he wants $20 million and the show to move to New York.

Sources tell us “AGT” boss Simon Cowell is hellbent on landing outspoken Stern for the judging panel — but moving the show from its home at Los Angeles’ CBS Television City is the deal-maker.
