Former ‘American Idol 5’ finalist Elliott Yamin releasing holiday album

Elliott Yamin is Jewish, but that isn’t stopping the former American Idol fifth-season finalist from releasing a holiday album full of Christmas music.

NBC Universal and Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s Hickory Records — the label that represents Yamin — have announced the Idol 5 third-place finisher will be one of three recording artists to release an “NBC Sounds of the Season” album.

“NBC Sounds of the Season: The Elliot Yamin Holiday Collection” will be available exclusively at Target stores and is scheduled for release on October 14…….

The Proud Of Our Troops drive continues to march on by sending Heart Full Of Soul books by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks to US troops. Soldiers who are overseas, and also recuperating in hospitals, have been enjoying the books. There are not enough books to go around, and soldiers who receive the books are sharing them with others. Jewelry Sprout, which sponsors the Proud Of Our Troops drive, is still collecting Heart Full Of Soul books so that each soldier can have their own copy of the inspirational read……..
