American Idol’s David Cook in Town Promoting Season 10

Cook said he’s excited to be back home. He went to the Chief’s game Monday night and he’s happy for their win and he’s also looking forward to finishing up his second album. On Tuesday he was front and center on Main Street in Blue Springs shooting a promo to kick off the next season of American Idol. Cook said the show changed his life, but he’s trying not to change who he is.

Daughtry Talks at the Grammy Museum

Tonight at 8 pm, the Grammy Museum host the multiplatinum rock group Daughtry to the museum’s Clive Davis Theater. The band first rose to the charts after lead singer’s Chris Daughtry stint on American Idol. The band and producer Howard Benson will be interviewed by the museum’s director Robert Santelli. There will be a Q&A with the audience and a stripped-down performance by the band. Tickets: $25.

In a recent wide-ranging report, Kantar Media said a whopping 31-and-a-half minutes in a given hour of a typical TV reality show feature some kind of advertising/marketing message. This includes standard national 30-second inventory, TV promos, in-show product placement and other branded entertainment messages.

LOS ANGELES — Prince Poppycock is hoping to be crowned king of “America’s Got Talent.”

The outlandish operatic creation of 32-year-old singing store clerk John Quale of Los Angeles is among the final four acts performing their ultimate routines Tuesday on the NBC variety competition. Poppycock, who judge Sharon Osbourne dubbed the “male Lady Gaga, ” has captured imaginations with his spectacular showmanship and bellowing singing voice.

Bristol Palin becomes Kate Gosselin’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ protege: report

Kate Gosselin has taken Bristol Palin under her wing as the teenage mom prepares for her upcoming stint on “Dancing With The Stars, ” Hollywood gossip site Pop Eater reported Tuesday.

A Palin family insider said that Gosselin told Palin that the show is really a popularity contest and encouraged the 19-year-old to use her famous mom, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, to garner votes.

“Kate became close with the Palin family when she taped an episode of her TLC reality show with Sarah Palin, ” the family source told Pop Eater.

“Honestly, I don’t know about Glee, ” the 47-year-old lead singer told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the Surfrider Foundation fundraiser in Malibu, Calif. Sept. 11. “I’ve seen a picture of the Glee thing, but I don’t know what it is really.”

After we described the award-winning musical show to him, Anthony STILL wasn’t into the idea of letting Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison & co. sing his tunes.

“Generally speaking, that doesn’t excite me, ” he admitted. “Nothing against Glee or any of those American Idol type shows, but you know … music that is near and dear to our hearts and the people we wrote it for and play it for, it doesn’t make sense to be seen in a television format. It seems emotionally displaced.”
