Pia Toscano Says ‘This Time’ Isn’t ‘Just A Breakup Song’
“The song could pertain to ‘American Idol’ and my journey on the show, ” Toscano told MTV News about the double meaning some fans and critics have found in the empowerment anthem’s lyrics about shaking off a guy (or a voting bloc) who did her wrong. “It’s a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, and it’s not just a breakup song.”
The tune, with a heavy R&B beat and a twinge of twang that might not be out of place in a Carrie Underwood foot-stomper, was written by Ester Dean, who has made similarly smart anthems for Rihanna (“S&M, ” “Rude Boy”) and Nicki Minaj (“Superbass”).

Darren Criss Recording New Music, No Solo Album Yet
Darren Criss may have been recording new music while in the UK last week, but he’s not recording a solo album just yet, he told HuffPost Celebrity on Friday at LeakyCon, a convention celebrating all things “Harry Potter.”
“I was doing music there, I mean theoretically I am always recording an album just like everyone is always making something, ” he told HuffPost when asked about Twitter rumors sparked by a San Diego Union-Tribune Tweet that revealed he was recording an album. “I happened to be working on music in London. So, sure? But not really.”

A sold out music festival is a feat in itself; but to sell out in just 10 minutes is a feat the first ever iHeartRadio Music Festival can boast. The two-day concert, taking place in Las Vegas on Sept. 23 and 24, sold out within the first 10 minutes of being on sale to the general public this past Saturday (July 16).
The festival is the result of the official launch of the new iHeartRadio, Clear Channel’s digital radio product.
