American Idol winners Kris Allen, Jordin Sparks, actress Jennifer Tilly to attend 2011 Kentucky Derby Mint Jubilee

After a one-year hiatus last year, the Mint Jubilee is back and the Derby Eve bash has released a guest list of headline grabbers representing some of the hottest names in reality television.

Among the celebs headed to the May 6 celebration at the Louisville Palace is “American Idol” 2009 winner Kris Allen, the cute crooner who beat out fan favorite Adam Lambert in the singing competition’s eighth season. Partygoers not only will have a chance to meet ‘n’ greet the singer-songwriter, they’ll also get to hear Allen perform some of his hit songs.

“Idol” will definitely be in this house — the hit Fox show’s 2007 winner, Jordin Sparks, also is coming, which was announced by party organizers a few weeks ago. The “Battlefield” and “No Air” chart-topping songstress also plans to hop on stage for a mini concert.

‘DWTS’ loves ‘Idol’

For the record, the people who run the two shows say they’ve always been friends.

“There’s no skullduggery, ” says “DWTS” Executive Producer Conrad Green.

“She was a huge story on ‘American Idol’ this season, ” he says of the Pia invitation. “She’s also very close to Mark, so we thought it would be nice to see her again and to get Mark to dance to her.

“We want to bring people onto the show that people want to watch. It’s that simple. If they happen to be on the other massive reality show, then that’s great.”

‘Oprah Behind the Scenes’: Best episode to date?

Let’s recap: That wicked blizzard in Chicago last February forced the postponement of the special soaps reunion, so the Oprah team scheduled not two but three (very rare) tapings on one jam-packed, butt-cold Friday. Everything looked as if it were going to go off without a hitch, until Hudson skipped town after her rehearsal Thursday evening without telling anyone that she had a previous (see: no doubt highly paid) engagement at the home of Jerry Jones in Dallas. The sneak probably would have gotten away with it, had an ice storm not hit Texas and forced her to miss a flight back to Chicago. At 4:45 a.m. on the day of the taping, Hudson’s publicist alerted Harpo that her client might be a leeeeeeettle late. Way to go, J. Hud!

What’s been so great about BTS is that with each week, we’ve seen Winfrey more and more unplugged – and tonight was no exception. Though the show spared us those expletive-fueled moments that probably raged on once the staff learned of Hudson’s whereabouts, Winfrey still appeared on camera (and without makeup) looking angry and demanding fast answers — just like a professional should behave if an idiot guest pulled a boneheaded move like this one.

Constantine Maroulis’ Advice for Naima Adedapo: ‘The Work Really Starts Now’

Constantine Maroulis has one crucial bit of advice for Milwaukee’s recently eliminated “American Idol” finalist Naima Adedapo: hustle.

“I love that sort of urban, reggae kind of vibe she brings, ” Maroulis, a season four “Idol” finalist, told me in an interview to promote his upcoming Milwaukee appearances in the traveling Broadway musical “Rock of Ages.” (That story is on Tap Milwaukee today). “She has a fan base now and a clearly recognizable face. But there’s a small window to capitalize on that. … She has to take every opportunity to get a deal, to try to work with a producer, to get a song out there, to do her own shows, to find some acting work. … The work really starts now.”

How NBC’s The Voice Plans to Out-Class TV’s Singing Competition Shows

Even Carson Daly was suspicious of The Voice’s bright red swivel chairs.

On NBC’s new singing competition, things kick off with those chairs and blind auditions. Four celebrity coaches sit listening with their backs to the contestants. Should they like what they hear, they slam down on a large button and their chairs swivel to the front. This means they want to guide that contestant through the competition, helping them with everything from their song choices to their style.

‘DWTS’ Guilty Pleasure Week: Kirstie & Maks Do Britney!

They don’t call him the Bad Boy of Ballroom for nothing. He talks back to the judges, he calls himself “Sex on a Stick, ” and now he’s leaking his own song for this week’s Guilty Pleasure Week on “Dancing with the Stars.” Yes, we’re talking about Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

“What are we going to get fired?” Maks said after telling reporters following last Tuesday’s results show, which sent home Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin, the song he and partner Kirstie Alley will dance to on Monday’s performance episode. “I don’t think they would fire the sex stick, ” Kirstie joked back.

Dancing’s Chelsea Kane: We Won’t Break Any Rules This Week

Are Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas dancing rebels without a cause? The two have incurred the wrath of Len Goodman for going against the grain with their Dancing with the Stars routines, but the Disney star says it’s all for the people. “I think there’s a time and a place for breaking the rules, ” Kane tells TVGuide.com. “I think we enjoy it because we are one of the youngest couples on the show and we want to entertain.” This week, however, look for them to be on their best behavior during their quickstep.

Hines Ward’s Biggest ‘Dancing’ Fear

“My biggest fear is the judges really haven’t said anything negative to me yet, ” Hines said with a chuckle. “I wanna go out there and make sure they don’t.”

Hines and pro partner Kym Johnson led the “Dancing” pack last week, scoring 27 out of 30 and the Super Bowl champion shared some of the secrets to their success saying, “You have to have that rapport not just in the ballroom but outside. Being in L.A., I really don’t know anybody so I’m always, ‘Hey, take me here. Take me here, ‘ and I think having that chemistry shows up in the dance routines.”

From “Born This Way” to Oprah: How Glee’s Max Adler Tackles Karofsky

On Tuesday, he returns to the principal’s office to face Kurt and their respective parents once again.

“I can’t really spill what happens in that scene, ” Adler says, wary of spoiling any major plot points. “But it felt like this United Nations meeting. You have the fathers and sons and the principal and teachers. You’re aware of who commands respect and who’s backing off, who’s trying to do what. There’s this great tension that everybody feels in this circle that adds to the final result. I felt most proud of that scene as far as the whole body of work on Glee.”

Adler was thrilled to reunite with Daniel Roebuck, who plays his onscreen dad Paul Karofsky, and appreciates the direction creator Ryan Murphy took with the character.

The 24-year-old actress wore a super colorful striped ensemble paired with a Mulberry for Target bag.
