Bachelor’s Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney Wed in Downpour!

Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney got married on a wet Saturday afternoon at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., a source confirms to UsMagazine.com.

The ceremony took place on a lawn overlooking the ocean; the couple exchanged vows beneath an altar made of tree branches, white lillies and orchids. Wearing a strapless Monique Lhuillier gown and Neil Lane jewels, holding an all-white bouquet, Malaney walked down the aisle as American Idol alum Jason Castro performed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” White doves were released in the middle of the ceremony.

As the couple read their vows, it started pouring. Mesnick and Malaney had a good laugh as they got drenched. Following their kiss, Castro sang “That’s What I’m Here For” as Mr. and Mrs. Mesnick walked out.

Among the party’s 250 guests — to be broadcast in a two-hour ABC special March 8 — were Bachelor alum Trista and Ryan Sutter. Melissa Rycroft, the “final rose” recipient famously dumped by Mesnick on-air (Malaney was initially his runner-up) during the tumultuous thirteenth season, was not present.

Tears of Cowell: X Factor guru Simon breaks down as he tells of father’s death

As X Factor’s ‘Mr Nasty’, Simon Cowell is not known for his sensitive side. But the talent-show guru had to hold back his tears when he re-lived the moment he discovered his father had died.

With tragic irony, Cowell learned the news after he called his mother to share his ‘euphoria’ that his group Westlife had their first No1.

The 50-year-old welled up as he recalled the memory on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, two weeks after Gordon Brown also became dewy-eyed on the ITV1 talk show when speaking of the death of his baby daughter Jennifer.

In the interview, to be aired tonight, Cowell chokes back the emotion when his mother Julie describes the fraught transatlantic phone call in which she broke the news of her husband Eric’s death in 1999.

Sex, drugs and Simon Cowell

SINCE leaving Simon Cowell speechless with his sexually charged performances on American Idol, outrageous pop prince Adam Lambert has become one of the most controversial stars in the States.

The openly gay 28-year-old’s raunchy routines, unique style and outspoken attitude have seen him dubbed Lad GaGa (although he thinks his close friend Lady G should be known as “Madam Lambert”).

And for that reason, he’s about to take the UK by storm, with his first visit planned for next month.

‘Pants on the Ground’ Guy — King of Vegas

Move over, Frank Sinatra — there’s a new man in Sin City and he goes by the name of Gen. Larry Platt.

The genius behind “Pants on the Ground” performed at JET nightclub at the Mirage Hotel last night — and judging by the bevy of women who surrounded the General … that song may have taken on a whole new meaning.

‘Idol’ exit Q&A: Tyler Grady on mixed signals and that famous bathrobe

Tyler Grady was no Jim Morrison. If he was he would have stayed longer than the first week of top 12. Besides, he doesn’t want to hear the comparison anyway, as he told EW.

‘Idol’ exit Q&A: Ashley Rodriguez talks nerves, airtime, and why she agrees with Tyler

Ashley Rodriguez sang Leona Lewis’ “Happy” on Tuesday night, but the 22-year-old contestant certainly wasn’t thrilled with last night’s results. Though the judges gave the singer lukewarm reviews following her performance — and lukewarm is hardly bad when you consider the horrible critiques they unleashed on the rest of the girls — she still couldn’t manage to nab enough votes to stay in the competition. But so what if voters hurt her? Rodriguez still plans on trucking on. Here’s what she had to say to EW following her exit.

During a news conference Thursday about this year’s Playboy Jazz Festival, to be held June 12 at the Hollywood Bowl with Cosby serving as the grand master of ceremonies, the comedy legend broke into a spontaneous — and heartfelt — version of the Platt insta-classic. He even did a funky little dance.

“Bill Cosby at 72 is as funny and hip as ever, ” said KTTV Fox 11 News reporter Gigi Graciette, introducing the clip of Cosby’s spontaneous song and dance, “and when it comes to music, he doesn’t miss a beat.”

American Idol: The Slick and the Dead

Let’s take a brief moment to discuss last night’s first big eliminations episode. Are you surprised? Disappointed? Thrilled to the point of exploding?

Well, no, no one is that last thing, I don’t think. As we drive on into the muddy night of these already lackluster Idol games, I trust that no one, save a few hundred thousand underpants-dampening Tim Urban fans, is giddy with abandon over this pack of warblers and wanderers. At least I hope not. We’re in bad shape, guys.

Glee’s Jessalyn Gilsig Wants Bette Midler to Guest Star

With all the celebs flocking to the set of Glee for their guest spots, one of the show’s stars, Jessalyn Gilsig, says there’s one icon she’d love to see join the cast for a little song and dance.

“Bette Midler should be on the show, ” said Gilsig, who plays Terri Schuester, at the Costume Design Guild Awards Thursday. “I’d want her to be my aunt or something. You can imagine Bette Midler as a kid. She must have been one of these Glee kids. She must have been so misunderstood and struggled so much, but she’s driven the same way Rachel is driven. I think she would be a good fit.”

American Idol Champ Kris Allen Goes Global

On the show, Allen performed a cover of the Beatles’ “Let It Be, ” with 100 percent of the proceeds from iTunes sales of the song going toward relief efforts.

Allen also recently made his way to Asia to promote his self-titled debut album. He made appearances in the Philippines, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he taped a live performance for Channel V, the country’s 24-hour music television network.

The best part? During the performance, Allen signed a Gibson Les Paul Junior that will be given out as a sweepstakes prize during this season’s American Idol broadcast.

Constantine Maroulis: ‘American Idol’ Needs To End

Fourth season ‘American Idol’ contestant Constantine Maroulis had a lot to say about the singing competition when he chatted with PopEater at USA Network and Vanity Fair’s 2010 Character Approved Awards in New York.

While the ‘Rock of Ages’ star approves of Ellen DeGeneres as a judge, he believes the show will implode when Simon Cowell leaves after this season. “It’s unfortunate. He’s a mogul and going to go on to greater and greater things … but the show is really going to miss him, ” Maroulis tells PopEater. “I hope they just end it after this year.”
