Tony Nominee Christiane Noll Joins Cast of NBC’s “Sound of Music” – Christiane Noll, most recently seen on Broadway in Chaplin, will be part of the cast of NBC’s live Dec. 5 broadcast of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music. The actress, who originated the role of Emma Carew in Broadway’s Jekyll & Hyde and received a 2010 Tony Award nomination for her performance in Ragtime, has been cast as Sister Margaretta, according to her agent. – Read more at

Country music superstar to perform at Big Sandy Arena after PATH to the Cure 5K Run – The event will raise money for the organization’s effort to help fight breast cancer here in the Tri-State. The proceeds from the 5K will help spread awareness and to provide free mammograms to locally uninsured and underinsured women. The 5K run/walk will start at 3 p.m. with a concert by country music star Kellie Pickler following at 5 p.m. “We finally finished the album and the release date is set for November 12th and it is called ‘The Woman I Am’,” said Pickler. “I love this album and I’m really excited about it. This is the first record that I’ve made with Black River Entertainment, and we’ve had so much fun working together so far. The “Britain’s Got Talent” runner-up is set to make her feature film debut in “The Christmas Candle,” from EchoLight Studios, of which the Republican presidential nominee runner-up became CEO in June.
