See Melanie Martinez Talk Tim Burton, Love of Horror Movies – “When I’m done with my last album, I want to make a movie with Tim Burton telling the story of all of the albums connected,” she explained to Rolling Stone in a recent interview at East Village toy shop Dinosaur Hill. Martinez is currently in the process of releasing videos for each song off her debut LP, which carries a twisted, childlike narrative, matching much of Burton’s work. “That’s my biggest dream.” – See the Video at Rolling Stone

‘Voice’ Winner Jordan Smith Talks ‘Something Beautiful,’ Rihanna & Confidence [Exclusive] – CM: You won The Voice in December and your debut album Something Beautiful came out March; that’s a very quick turnaround. What was that recording process like? JS: Yeah, it was a pretty quick turnaround, once I won the show on Dec. 15, I got to have a few days at home with my family to celebrate with them, and then I was immediately back in L.A. on Jan. 4 to start recording the album. We finished 16 songs in about three and a half weeks, so it was a very quick process, a very fast turnaround. But the whole album itself came about really organically. We just kind of sat down and used our first instincts. So, it made the process much easier because we didn’t have to manipulate or worry about changing the arrangements or making it our own but we just, you know, did what came naturally did what came to mind. – Read more at Music Times

The Voice: Alisan Porter, Adam Wakefield, Mary Sarah, Laith Al-Saadi, Shalyah Fearing on Making the Top 9 – The Top 9 take the stage on tonight’s The Voice and on Tuesday one more artist will go home as we get closer to the Season 10 finale of the singing competition. “It’s already signed. It’s a done deal,” Adam jokes when asked about the comment that Pharrell made about him being a shoe-in to land a contract with country music behemoth Big Machine. “We will see what happens. If I win the show, Lord willing, they are just going to have to wait because I will be under contract to Republic. For me, honestly, I’ve got a bluegrass band. We just finished a record. I know it’s bluegrass. I am just hoping when we put that out some people will be listening to it.” – Ha ha ha. Somebody has to sit Adam down and explain how the winner’s record deal works.Parade.com
