American Idol winner Phillip Phillips to play benefit concert for Georgia hospital – Georgia native and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is doing his part to help the health care heroes battling the coronavirus. Southwest Georgia, where Phillips is from, is the hardest-hit area of the state. Hundreds of people have died in the last couple months. “My small town of Albany has been hit disproportionately hard by the coronavirus and I want to help.
