Dalton Rapattoni on His Idol Triumphs (‘Sound of Silence,’ ‘Bird Set Free’) and His Decision to Come Out as Bipolar – I already knew how to talk to people in the music industry,” Dalton says during his three-part video interview with TVLine, so not only was he able to stand up for his creative ideas when meeting with producers, he also knew to be respectful to key advisors during stressful situations. Dalton breaks down his approach to some of his best moments on the show (including the emotional release of “Bird Set Free”), explains what went wrong during “Radioactive” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” and reveals the song he was thwarted (twice!) from singing during the live rounds. Plus, we hear more about the week he wavered between “Seven Nation Army” and “God Only Knows.” – Watch the Video at TVLine

Christina Aguilera’s Voice Team Explains Why It’s Her Turn to Win – E! News caught up with Aguilera’s three top 12 finalists—Alisan Porter, Bryan Bautista and Nick Hagelin—just after they were sent through to the next round of competition, and they explained why they think it’s their coach’s turn to take her very first title. “Christina’s been on the show since the beginning. She’s Christina, which gives her that, and I just think it’s her turn and we’re all capable,” says Porter. Adds Hagelin, who was saved by the “Beautiful” singer after being cut by Pharrell Williams in an earlier round, “I’ve had two coaches now. Pharrell helped me a lot, but instantly when I got in the room with Christina, she’s a vocal coach. She comes right in, she gives you runs, she gives you ideas and it’s so tangible, her coaching. Pharrell gave me stuff to think about, but Christina gave me stuff I could hold and walk out of that rehearsal knowing what to do.” – Read more at EOnline

Carmen Rasmusen Herbert: Lessons on confidence from ‘American Idol’ alum Brooke White – The post read, “Are you blessed with an abundance of self-doubt? Do you have a lifetime supply of insecurity? … Hey me too! Let’s talk about it.” I saw this post while scrolling through Instagram. It was from one of my favorite gals, Brooke White from American Idol (season seven), and I thought, “Hey! Me too! When can we talk?” Turns out she was coming to Provo to speak at Creative Collaborative on the topic of insecurity and finding success, and I was so excited to finally meet the “other blonde Mormon from Idol” that I’d been social media stalking for years. We met briefly in the bathroom as we were washing our hands before her presentation, and I had to pinch myself so I didn’t fangirl out and scare her away by screaming, “I love you so much!” Instead, I just said, “Hi! I’m Carmen,” a little too loudly. – Read more at Deseret News
