David Cook, Sawyer Fredericks to sing Anthem at Watkins Glen Racetrack – American Idol Season 7 winner, David Cook, will sing the National Anthem singer for the Cheez-It™ 355 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on August 9th. The Voice 8 winner, Sawyer Fredericks will sing the Anthem on August 8th ahead of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Zippo 200. Both races are at the Watkins Glen International race track in Watkins Glen NY. Jennifer Hudson cast in Spike Lee’s movie for Amazon – Spike Lee’s next major film (working title, Chi-Raq) is the first-ever Amazon Original Movie produced. Chi-Raq will feature Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson, Teyonah Parris, D.B. Sweeney, Harry Lennix, Steve Harris, Angela Bassett with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. ‘American Idol’ Tour Director Raj Kapoor on Top 5: ‘They All Sing Their Faces Off’ – American Idol’s long time tour director, Raj Kapoor, talks to Billboard about the American Idol Live summer tour. “Idol has evolved and you change with the times. This year’s kids are very musical. Last year we made a decision not to have a band for the first time, which was not my favorite decision. This year one of our priorities was to have a band again. You can’t really have a show like this with real music and musicians without a band. That was one of the number one priorities. But somewhere along the line there had to be a compromise. We can’t really have a band if we’re taking all 10 of them, but way in advance they thought we were only taking five this year.
