American Idol alums taking Part in Homeward Bound Concert

American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, Season 16 winner, Maddie Poppe and Season 17 runner-up, Scarypoolparty are set to perform in the Homeward Bound charity event scheduled for January 23 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. Proceeds benefit PATH, which benefits the homeless community.

American Idol Los Angeles Judges Auditions Underway.

The last stop on the American Idol judges round tour has been taking place all weekend in Los Angeles. Judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie; host Ryan Seacrest and mentor Bobby Bones have all taken part. That’s it for the judges round. Now on to Hollywood week in December.

‘Hit Her with the Skates’ will debut in Chicago with ‘American Idol’ stars — a new musical hoping for Broadway – A new musical with Broadway aspirations — and two stars from the “American Idol” television series — will premiere next spring at the Royal George Theatre in Chicago. “Hit Her with the Skates” will be billed as a nostalgic show set partly in 1994 and partly in 1977, with events set in a fictional roller rink based, its creators say, on the disco-era gang at a roller rink at the Lynwood Sports Center, a long-standing, teen-friendly facility in the south suburbs. The show, which will feature an original book and score, will be written, composed and produced by the husband-and-wife team of Christine Rea (book/lyrics) and Rick Briskin (music/lyrics). Simon Cowell Goes Up Against Little Mix With New Show ‘The X Factor: The Band’ – It’s Simon Cowell versus Little Mix in a battle of upcoming TV talent shows. Cowell is launching “The X Factor: The Band,” a new format for ITV. The BBC recently announced “Little Mix The Search,” fronted by the eponymous band, which first came to the public’s attention after winning “The X Factor.” Relations between Cowell and Little Mix have since soured. The group has split from his music label and worked up its talent show for the BBC. Cowell has now upped the ante. A celebrity version of “The X Factor” is currently on air in the U.K. “The X Factor: The Band” will go out in December, said Talkback, the Fremantle-owned producer that makes the show. It would not reveal further details of the format, which is expected to scout for a new boy-band and a new girl-group. The show is set to go out of the gate ahead of Little Mix’s show, which is set to air in early 2020. – Read more at Variety
