With 52.57%, Nas looks like he could hold onto number 1 for a second week. With HDD predicting that the top album might sell 50K, it’s a very grim week indeed. In January, these numbers would be grim. HDD estimates that Zac Brown Band (who had the number 1 album 2 weeks ago) may challenge Nas for the lead, but they are currently in 4th. Usually Country acts pull in their best numbers on the first day while Urban acts in their second day.
The top debut right now is Passion Pit’s “Gossamer” in second, but Gaslight Anthem’s “Handwritten” isn’t all that far behind in actual numbers even though they are currently in 5th. Trundling along in third is the latest opus from Kidz Bop.
Justin Bieber is setting up camp in the top ten at 6th, next to Adele’s top 10 mansion at 7th and One Direction’s top 10 summer cottage at 8th. Kenny Chesney is right ahead of fellow Country star Luke Bryan for 9th and 10th.
The top Idol is Carrie Underwood with her “Blown Away” at 17. Kelly Clarkson latest album is at 33rd while she also appears on Now 42 at 18 (as does One Direction) and Jason Aldean’s album at 26. Judges from the Voice appear with Maroon 5 (Adam) at 133th and Now Country 5 (Blake) at 22.
