The nominees for the MTV Video Music Awards were announced this morning. One Direction, Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson all received nods.
Rihanna and Drake received the most nominations with 5 each. Katy Perry is next with four. while Beyonce, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Nicki Minaj, and Frank Ocean tied for three nominations each.
One Direction and Alicia Keys are confirmed to perform.
The 2012 MTV VMAs airs live Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. ET. Vote for your favorites at MTV.com.
