Glee Season 6 – Watch The Glee Grads pay Homage to “Take On Me” by A-Ha (VIDEO)

This is cool! Glee pays homage to the groundbreaking 80s music video “Take On Me” by A-Ha with it’s own version of the video. Back in 80s, “Take on Me” employed the first use of the technology called rotoscoping to achieve cool black and white comic book effects that jumped effortlessly between fantasy and reality.

In the performance, Principal Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) comes after the kids as they take over the school cafeteria–as they are wont to do–with a performance.

The song is from “Homecoming,” the second half of the Glee two hour premiere. The gang is back for the big game, but also to give Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer), newly installed New Directions chiefs, a hand in recruiting new members.

Tina (Jena Ushkowitz), Artie (Kevin McHale), Santana (Naya Rivera), Brittany (Heather Morris), Puck (Mark Salling), Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) have all returned. You won’t see Blaine (Darren Criss), because he’s now heading the competition–the Dalton Warblers! Former director, Mr. Shue (Matthew Morrison) is heading up the Glee club’s arch rivals, Vocal Adrenaline.

You might be asking, “Where is Mike Chang?” Fear not. Harry Shum Jr. was filming the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon movie sequel at the time the premiere was filmed. He WILL return to Glee later on in the season…

Glee Season 6 premieres on FOX Friday January 9.
