Glee Season 6 Spoilers Episode 7 – Transitioning

As I have been doing the past couple of episodes where I don’t have exclusive spoilers–here is a roundup of plot details I’ve gathered from around the ‘net for this week’s Glee, titled “Transitioning,” set to on on Friday, February 13.Actually, we DID spoil one aspect of the plot when we revealed in November that Shannon Beiste would be transitioning to male. We all know that she has taken a leave of absence for surgery and treatment. She returns in this episode as Sheldon.

Unique Adams (Alex Newell) will return as part of the plot, with an update on her own transition. I’m glad, because the writers really half assed that story. Hopefully she gets a satisfying conclusion. She’ll sing “I Know Where I’ve Been” fronting a transgender choir. From all accounts, the performance was quite moving.Making a VERY WELCOME COMEBACK: Jayma Mays as Will Schuester’s wife, Emma! Mercedes (Amber Riley) is also returning for a second episode in a row.

Here’s the official FOX studios episode summary:

While Will is euphoric over his new job coaching Vocal Adrenaline and all the perks that come with it, he still confesses to missing the camaraderie of New Directions. After learning of a mean-spirited prank his students pulled on rival coaches Rachel and Blaine, he tries to teach his kids about tolerance by making it his weekly lesson plan. But not everyone is willing to accept Will’s softer, all-inclusive style of coaching, forcing him to take a hard look at the choices he’s made in order to figure out his next move. Rachel must come to terms with the fact her family home has finally been sold and all her memories appear to be going away with it. While she is despondent over the turn of events, Sam recruits the other gleeks to stage an intervention of sorts in order to help her get past the challenging milestone with a fun, song-filled sendoff. A post-op Coach Beiste, who has changed his name to Sheldon, returns to McKinley to receive an uncharacteristically warm but typically over-the-top welcome-back from Sue. While his return has several supporters and a few detractors, it takes a bold move from several old-school gleeks to make him really feel at home again. And the romantic tension that has been brewing between Sam and Rachel finally boils over, while Kurt and Blaine find themselves in a familiar situation that brings back old memories.

In the photo gallery below there are photos of:

  • Rachel (Lea Michele) packing up her bedroom. Her dads have sold her childhood home in the wake of their divorce.
  • Rachel and Blaine (Darren Criss) covered in broken eggs (It’s the prank referenced in the episode summary) There are pap photos of the shoot HERE. The incident appears to happen in a park, where the duo run into Will and Emma taking their baby out for a stroll.
  • Mercedes and Kurt spin a “song wheel” in the choir room.

The “bash” to cheer Rachel up  takes place at her house, as the gang gather round to help her pack.

Reportedly, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine have a very intense talk outside on the walkway that leads to some significant development in their relationship. There is also a kiss at some point in the episode.

The “welcome back” Sue has planned includes the 200+ member trans choir, fronted by Unique singing “I Know Where I’ve Been.” Yes. That seems over the top, but also quite wonderful.

Karofsky (Max Adler) appears in this episode. Other than the finale, “2009,” which is a flashback episode, this is Karofsky’s last appearance.
