Check out the first teaser promo for Glee Season 5 that is currently airing on FOX.
It’s comprised completely of scenes from Season 4, so in that regard, the clip isn’t very exciting. Most notably, Finn Hudson is absent, and it just doesn’t seem right. Finn, of course, was played by the late actor, Cory Monteith, who tragically died of a drug overdose last month. Finn will be written off the show in episode 3 in a special tribute, after a two-week Beatles themed premiere.
The 23 second spot debuts a “Once Again” theme. “Once Again with Feeling,” “Once Again With Drama,” “Once Again with Passion,” splash across the screen as favorite characters including Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer), Blaine (Darren Criss), Sam (Chord Overstreet), Sue (Jane Lynch) and more dance and sing across our screens. It’s a decidedly upbeat tease to what will be, undoubtedly, a bittersweet season.
In other news, E Online reports that a new male lead is being cast as a major recurring guest star, and will be older, handsome, and part of the New York City side of things. A new love interest for Rachel, maybe?
Glee season 5 premieres on Thursday, September 26.
