The Masked Singer 14: Who Was Unmasked on Red, White & Clue night?
The Masked Singer 14 week 5 is “Red, White & Clue Night” Ken Jeong, Rita Ora, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy sit on the judges panel. Nick Cannon hosts.
And after a late start due to NASCAR weather related overtime…here we go.
The show opens with Robin singing “Living in America.” This week is a celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday. Rah, rah. Tonight features the last WILDCARD of the season.
High Voltage
Clues: His dad immigrated to the states. He’s a scientist, his mother is a poet. They spit roasted a goat!
Performance: Miles On It by Kane Brown ft Marshmello – High Voltage’s tone is super mellow. Not a great singer, so doubt if he’s a professional. But he seems to be having fun up there. On stage clue. A guitar – “I’ve had this by my side since age 13…finding your rhythm.” Jenny guesses Jimmy Fallon. Nooooooo. Robin guesses Conan O’Brien. HELL to the no. Ken guesses John Stamos.
Calla Lilly
Clues: Her father was an American Icon. Sean Penn and Madonna were dinner guests. There were years they were distant. But they are closer now.
Performance: Jack & Dianne by John Mellencamp – She’s a horrible singer, whoever she is. Totally tone deaf. This is painful. Hard to not imagine her going home this week. On Stage Clue: A diamond key “This has unlocked countless doors for me.” Robin guesses Danielle Fischer. Rita guesses Selma Blair. Jenny guesses Teddi Mellencamp. (a contestant would not choose a song so on the nose? Also, Teddi is still pretty sick with cancer, I believe)
Eggplant
Clues: He crashed the most iconic event in pop history–We Are the World. He’s topped the charts himself, but he was still starstruck. Michael Jackson urged him to keep singing.
Performance: American Woman by Lenny Kravitz – Hm. There were several actors at the We Are the World shoot. But apparently, Eggplant can sing, though. On Stage Clue: Hot sauce “Some say my success has been hot hot hot and I think this bottle says it best.” Ken guesses Billy Joel. Jenny guesses Daryl Hall. Hm. I don’t think so. Robin guesses Kenny Loggins.
Owl
Clues: He loves baseball. “I’m no pro.” Back in the day he was a right handed slugger. He’s from Tennessee. He turned in his glove. He knew there were other fields to play in.
Performance: Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers – He sings with a very distinct gravelly voice. Definitely an acquired taste. If he’s a singer, he should be easy to guess, right? On Stage Clue: Super Bowl. “I was super excited when I got to play in one of America’s greatest event.” Ken guesses Matthew McConaughey. Rita guesses Kurt Russell. He DID play baseball. That’s actually a good guess. Jenny guesses Jeff Daniels.
Pangolin (WILDCARD)
Clues: Her family was into sports. High school…astronaut? She became the half time queen. She was very competitive. “Pretty ironic.”
Performance: Ironic by Alanis Morissette -Well, Pangolin is a decent singer. But is she a dancer first, considering the clues? Hm. On Stage Clue: Winner “Her first big win was more than a dream come true.” Hm. Rita guesses Sara Bareilles. Jenny guesses Christina Perri. Ken guesses Katy Perry. Another stupid guess from Ken.

The votes are in. The singer unmasking tonight is…Calla Lilly. Yeah, she sucked. Final guesses: Rita: Selma Blair. Ken: Christina Applegate (She’s very ill with MS, so no). Robin: Danielle Fishable Jenny: Teddi Mellencamp. Oh. It IS Teddi Mellencamp. WELP SHE DID NOT INHERIT HER DAD’S SINGING TALENT. Still surprising. She’s been really sick. She has Melanoma that spread to her lungs and brain. But apparently she is in remission. Good for her.
