Glee Season 4 Casting: Gerard Funk as New Head Warbler

Canadian actor-singer Nolan Gerard Funk (Nickelodeon musical Spectacular!, Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie) is joining the cast of Glee as the Warblers’ new frontman, Hunter, according to TV Line.

I suppose that means Grant Gustin, who played the Evil Gay Warbler, Sebastian, last season, probably isn’t coming back.

Hunter’s job will be to lure ex-Warbler, Blaine (Darren Criss), back to Dalton Academy so the a’cappela group has a chance at winning Nationals this year.

Klaine shippers! No worries. Hunter is straight.

Funk will join the show in Episode 7 titled, “Dynamic Duets.”

It probably won’t take much to lure Blaine into at least considering transferring back. At the end of  last week’s episode, “The Makeover,”  Blaine realized that the only reason he transferred to McKinley in the first place, was to be with his boyfriend Kurt (Chris Colfer). Now that his guy has moved to  New York City he feels completely alone at his new school.

Co-creator, Ryan Murphy has confirmed on twitter that Blaine WILL sing lead with the Warblers in Episode 7 and  consider transferring back to Dalton Academy. There are rumors that he does head back to his old school…but it’s not confirmed….
