American Idol 2018 alum Gabby Barrett mysteriously pulled out of performing on last week’s 2021 CMT Music Awards due to “personal circumstances.” Now, she’s thanking her fans in an Instagram message for supporting her “Female Video of the Year” win. This, after announcing that “Footprints on the Moon” will be her third single.

“Hey guys,” Gabby said in an Instagram video. “Just wanted to come on here and give a big ‘thank you so much’ to CMT and to the fans.” The singer continued, “Thank you guys so much for allowing me to win Female Video of the Year. Such a huge honor. I got my first award ever with CMT, so it’s absolutely amazing to be able to add that to the awesome collection.”

The CMT Music Awards winners are solely determined via fan voting.

Gabby continued, “But I just feel very honored. Thank you guys so much for all your love and support.” The singer promises to make up for missing her CMT performance. “I’m so sad that I…wasn’t able to perform for the show,” she said. “But hopefully we’ll come up with something cool next year. I love you guys so much. Thank you again.”

Then she points the camera at her baby daughter, Baylah, who was strapped in to the backseat of the car she was riding in. “My child is playing with her toys!” Most likely, husband and fellow American Idol alum Cade Foehner is in the drivers seat.

Gabby doesn’t explain why she suddenly backed out of the event, but everybody looks happy and healthy. That’s a good thing. Watch the video below.

In the meantime, Gabby recently announced that “Footprints on the Moon,” another cut from her Goldmine album, and written by Gabby, Zach Kale and Jon Nite, will be her third single. Both “I Hope” and “The Good Ones” topped the Hot Country Songs chart.
