CZN – Boy Band

The group won Canadian Families Got Talent and are a singing trio consisting of CJ Capital, Seth Zosky, and Matthew Novary Joseph. CJ is from Ottawa, Seth is from Toronto and Matthew is from Hamilton. The boys sweet harmonies seem to please Simon very much! But they don’t get much air time. – 4 yeses

T.3 – Singing trio

Friends Liam Fennecken, Brendan Jacob Smith and Jim Hogan started singing covers of songs just for fun in December, according to OurMidland. Fennecken and Hogan have been part of national tours of Broadway shows, with Fennecken staring in productions including “American Idiot,” “Once” and “School of Rock” while Hogan was in “Phantom of the Opera,” “Spring Awakening” and “Waitress.” The group compares themselves to One Direction, but they are actually nothing like that! NBC previewed the audition a few days ago. It turns out, all three guys have big Broadway voices, and considering their experience, that’s no surprise! However, they kinda resemble Pentatonix, who also present jazzy, classic arrangements. Heidi calls the “a lot of fun.” Sofia calls it “so unexpected…I loved it.” Howie compliments their joy and energy. Simon appreciates that they don’t do the obvious, “great great audition,” he says. – 4 yeses.

Kabir Singh – Comedian

“Kabeezy” has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Gabriel Iglesias’s Stand-up Revolution” and a bunch of other shows. He’s been supporting his mother since his father died some time ago. The pandemic sliced into his income. Now, he’s looking to kickstart his career. A Southeast Asian, Kabir tells a bunch of white people jokes that are admittedly pretty amusing. Howie is the first out of his seat. Sofia calls him a “great surprise.” Simon loves his energy. Heidi loves “everything you just did.” Howie calls him a star. At that point, Kabir tears up. He’s so polite, thanking the judges and gushing about what a great honor it is to perform for them. – 4 yeses

Mama Char – Actress, Motivational Speaker

Mama Char’s Facebook page describes her as “Best selling author, actor, dancer, improv queen, motivational speaker, creator [of] change your life.” Also, she’s 70 years old. And she will dance. She was a go go dancer in the 60s, she claims. Oh boy. Her “dancing” is basically moving stiffly around in place and waving her arms a bit. Simon buzzes her immediately. She DOES look younger than 70, however. 4 nos

Storm Large – Singer

Some of you may remember Storm Large from the singing competition Rockstar: Supernova in 2006. Storm is 51 years old, which amazes the panel. Simon jokes, “Have we met somewhere before?” She’s a compelling singer. But she does this minor chord arrangement of “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and IT’S A NO FROM ME. Some songs just should not be messed with. This is one of them. The arrangement is actually not all that creative. Having said all that, she’s got a terrific rock voice. Certainly, she’s picked an attention-getting cover. The judges give her a standing ovation. Heidi calls her “insane” and “possessed.” Howie says “Well done, young lady.” Sofia calls her “super sexy and powerful.” Simon calls her “amazing.” 4 yeses

Klek Entos – Magician

“Klek” has appeared on France’s Got Talent performing magic tricks wearing a full face mask. But it turned out the magician, real name David Stone, had appeared on the show before sans mask and moniker, where he made it all the way to the finals, but did not win. NBC previewed this audition earlier in the week. Klek does a thing that’s supposed to be super scary. But his bit, involving a huge spider, isn’t all that scary? The entire routine feels contrived. Heidi calls it “eerie and scary.” Howie and Sofia are too scared to say no. “I never knew Howie had a twin,” jokes Simon. “It’s a yes.” – 4 yeses

The Misfit – Singer

She compares herself to Lady Gaga, calling herself a “Rockstar.” As she prepares to take the stage, she brushes the hair under her arms. She can’t be serious. And she isn’t. She warbles off key, which prompts Simon to buzz her quickly. “My God this is terrible,” he says. The acrobatics she performs with her backup dancers aren’t bad. But the singing…NOPE. Heidi loves her outfits, but not her singing. Howie thinks she should focus on anything but singing. Sofia said the voice ruined it. “It sounded like you were being tortured,” says Simon. She’s got to be an actress or a comedian. – 4 nos

World Taekwondo Demonstration Team – Terry Crews Golden Buzzer!

Martial artists – This group travels the world demonstrating amazing Taekwondo feats of skill. The group is HUGE! The members are from all over the world, including South Korea and America. The group was supposed to perform at the Olympics, but the pandemic stopped them, for some reason. The performers split blocks, while jumping. It’s all choreographed, with dance like moves in between. Women are part of the group, too. The last bit, has a guy running using his fellow performers bodies to climb high in the air. It’s spectacular. They finish, holding a sign “Peace is more precious than triumph.” Heidi compliments their strength and power. Howie admires their discipline and message. Sofia calls it “perfection.” Simon calls it “extraordinary.”

OH. I didn’t think there would be a Golden Buzzer this week! But there is. Terry comes down off the stage to hit the buzzer, sending the group strait to the live shows.
