UPDATE:it’s official. ABC has announced Chris as the new Bachelor.
A disappointed Arie Luyendyk Jr. spilled the beans on the next Bachelor! While tweeting the news that he didn’t make the cut to be next season’s candidate, he added sarcastically “Have fun on the farm, people.”
That little bit of snark could only be referring to Bachelor fan favorite, Chris Soules, the Iowa farmer, Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman, sent home before he got the chance to get down with her in the Fantasy Suite. Eventually, Andi ended up with Josh Murray after ditching the creeper, Nick Viall.
And indeed, entertainment sites like Us Magazine are confirming that Chris IS the next Bachelor, which comes as no surprise. Fans of the show loved his sincerity and romantic streak. Most also knew that city girl, Andi, wouldn’t be ditching her career as a district attorney to play Green Acres out in the middle of nowhere.
Casting the likeable Chris for the next season is a no brainer. Just round up a bunch of girls who dream about life on a farm and you’ve got a show!
Arie was runner-up on Emily Maynard’s Bachelorette season back in 2012. “He already had his packages shot and they even got him a trainer so he could buff up and be camera ready with his shirt off,” an insider told Us. Sad for him. Despite the crack aimed at farm boy, Arie thanked his fans and told them not to worry.
