It looks like VH1 will be dealing with Fantasia’s suicide attempt in a very explicit way, if this new preview of the reality series, returning to the airwaves on September 19 is any indication.
The cameras film her in her hospital bed after the attempt, and I gotta say, I think that crosses a line.
I’m not a tin-hatter who believes the episode was cooked up for publicity purposes, but the whiff of manipulation here will only fuel the cynics who don’t take Fantasia’s suicide attempt seriously.
If Fantasia was really intent on checking out, she’s got serious issues that need to be addressed AWAY from the cameras. If she doesn’t, she’ll face another meltdown. But then, VH1 may be counting on that.
