American Idol season 3 winner, Fantasia, is gearing up for her 5th studio album. The first single, “No Time for It,” is here and available on iTunes and available for streaming.
The song, produced by Brian Kennedy, is an upbeat anthem to brushing off the haters and focusing on what’s important in life. The singer recently married Kendall Taylor.
Fantasia released her debut album, Free Yourself, in fall 2004, after winning American Idol season 3 earlier that year. The singer is one of a handful of Idol alums who have held on to their original RCA record deal (along with Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry).
She may not be a pop star like Kelly or Carrie, but Fantasia has more than proved her mettle to R&B fans, the format where the singer has consistently charted. Her last two albums, 2010’s Back to Me and Side Effects of You in 2013 debuted at No 1 and 2 on the R&B and Billboard 200 charts, respectively.
Fantasia has also starred on Broadway in the Color Purple and Cotton Club. The singer’s most recent triumph was performing on the recent PBS Lincoln Center special Frank Sinatra: Voice for a Century.
“No Time for It” is a cut off of Fantasia’s not-yet-titled fifth studio album, set for release this year.
