Darren Criss isn’t going to get a minute to breathe. After he wraps up his 12 week stint in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Sunday (7/19), he heads off to Italy the next day to begin shooting a feature film, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Smitten!, stars Darren as a young American fashion executive. The film is an “enchanted fable, a caper with four romances” which revolves around the main character “who gets kidnapped and taken into the alpine mountains by three bumbling members of the mafia.”

Barry Morrow, who won an Oscar for for writing the Rainman screen play will make his directorial debut, based on his own script.

The film will shoot in Italy, reports THR, beginning in Fane Alm, Southern Tyrol for four weeks before moving to Rome for three weeks.

Darren, formerly Blaine Anderson on Glee, has been keeping busy since the show wrapped at the end of March, preparing for and starring in Hedwig. There has been more good news this week too. The singer/actor was nominated for an Emmy for “This Time,” a song he wrote to spotlight Lea Michele (Rachel) on the Glee finale.

Previous credits outside of Glee include voicing characters in the the animated films The Tale of The Princess Kaguya and The Wind Rises. He also co-starred alongside Kristen Wiig in the feature film Girl Most Likely.
