Dancing With The Stars – Week 5 – VIDEO

Tonight it’s the Viennese Waltz and the Paso Doble

Gilles and Cheryl’s aggressive Paso Doble earned a high score of 29 this week. Steve-0 and Lacey earn an A for effort for their sweet Viennese Waltz, but earn the night’s low score of 18.

Steve-O’s clumsy but endearing waltz may have earned him another week. Lawrence and Edyta only scored slightly better–a 20. Their lack of chemistry may do them in this week.

Tomorrow, the Bottom 2 dance off in front of the judges is back.

Live re-cap and videos after the JUMP…

Chuck and Julianne – Viennese Waltz – Julianne plans to push Chuck out of his comfort zone. Julianne is just stunning in this dance but Chuck is still a little stiff. He’s not letting loose – Len says, “Much higher performance level…work on the finesse.” Excited, Chuck kicks the camera. Bruno says, “You are emerging from the shadows…you were really performing.” Carrie Ann says, “I know you have it…you lose your focus…it’s not quite coming together yet.” Julianne gives Carrie Ann a WTF? look when she accuses her of lifting her foot. – Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 8, Bruno 8 – 23 – Chuck says he’ll take the criticism with a grain of salt – 800-868-3406

Lawrence and Edyta – Paso Doble – Lawrence compares the Paso to watching TV with the sound down. This dance has some really nice moments. Definitely Lawrence’s best dance so far. Bruno says, “Strong, fierce and powerful…you started to get into gear…you can do it.” Carrie Ann says he’s got a limited range of movement, but worked well in it. Len says, “I liked the intensity, the dance quality isn’t quite there, but much better.” Carrie Ann – 6, Len -7, Bruno – 7 – 20 Aw, I thought they deserved higher than 20 – 800-868-3403

Shawn and Mark – Viennese Waltz – Shawn is actually dancing this week, and doing a nice job. This should put her back in the race after last week’s trick-heavy dance. Carrie Ann says, “Simplicity is the best thing.” She gave them a pass for a lift they did at the end, calling it “artistic”. Len says, “You have to step forward on your heels…that didn’t really happen.” Bruno says, “It’s a great special flow, great musicality…keep your shoulders down.” Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 8 Bruno – 9 – 26 – 800-868-3409

Melissa and Tony – Paso Doble – No smiling in Paso! Melissa’s chirpy cheeleader personality isn’t grasping the aggression. That was mostly good. Len says, “You are an excellent dancer…a difficult routine…” Len mentions a couple of obvious blunders, that I even noticed. Bruno says, “You went for it and most of it was very very beautiful.” Carrie Ann says, “I felt you were a little off balance in your footing…and there was a lift.” Carrie Ann – 8, Len -8, Bruno – 9 – 25 – Melissa says she was concentrating to hard on her face – 800-868-3413

David and Kym – Viennese Waltz – David has hatched a plan to bribe the judges. He is desperate. Ha ha. David doesn’t look altogether comfortable up there. Bruno says, “It started very very well…you lift a leg, you looked like a dog on a lamp post.” Carrie Ann says, “I can tell that you move well…you two together are not moving in unison.” Len says, “I loved the story, I thought that was a very good performance. I’m very pleased.” Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 8, Bruno – 7 – 22 – 800-868-3411

Gilles and Cheryl – Paso Doble – Gilles is a martial arts fighter. So, he’s gonna be good… OMG he’s shirtless. Awesome. Wow. That was sexy. Carrie Ann says, “That was just breathtaking…I feel like I’m watching somebody take it back to the core and essence…” Len says, “A tad hectic in places.” Bruno says, “Gilles, you’re going for the kill…a battle for supremacy…you nailed it.” Carrie Ann 10 Len – 9 Bruno – 10 – 29 – 800-868-3405.

Steve-o and Lacey – Viennese Waltz – Johnny Knoxville and a midget show up as moral support. Alrighty, then. Aw, Steve-o is an annoying mime! But it’s kinda cute, even if the dancing is bad. Len says, “It was your best dance…but don’t get excited.” Bruno says, “You’re timing was on tonight.” Carrie Ann says, “Sweet and innocent…work on your posture.” Carrie Ann – 6, Len – 6, Bruno – 6 – 18 – 800-868-3404

Ty and Chelsie –   Paso Doble –   Ty is a rodeo guy, he’s a bullrider. Close enough.   But the dance itself is lacking aggresion. Ty looks very uncomfortable on the dance floor.   Bruno says, “It was so robotic…the steps were there, but it was too stiff.”   Carrie Ann says, “Where did my little dancer go?” Len says, “This one not quite that standard…[of his last two dances]. Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, Bruno 7 – 21 – 800-868-3408.

Lil Kim and Derek –   Viennese Waltz – It’s amazing how light on her feet short, top heavy Lil Kim is. Carrie Ann says, “You brought every moment to life…you guys are perfectly matched.”   Len say, “Lyrical, great musicality” he suggested she improve her footwork. Bruno says, “You managed to make the Viennese Waltz look sassy.” Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, Bruno – 8 – 26 – 800-868-3401
