  1. Bummer for the stars who got handed the tough-to-dance quickstep, rather than the crowd-pleasing jive.

LOL- a Jive isn’t all that much easier, especially if they haven’t been working on their cardio for like six months.
For me it is less forgiving technically, too- anything less than crisp and snappy stands out like a lazy sore thumb while a lower key quickstep still looks marginally elegant.
Either way I think it is the skill level of the choreographer as much as anything else.
But these are both freaking difficult dances so it’s gonna be good times!

  2. I don’t think the quickstep is “dreaded” in DWTS the way it has become in SYTYCD. By now account am I saying it’s easy, but DWTS has seen plenty of entertaining and crowd pleasing quicksteps and I’m with the previous poster that the jive is also a very demanding dance, especially in Week 2.

Also something tells me that the 6’7 guy who was assigned the jive, is probably wishing he had the quickstep this week. Just in my understanding that the jive favors the more oompact dancers.

  3. ITA. For someone who isnt trained in dance both are hard in their own ways. I know Karina tweeted the other day, twice, about how hard the quickstep has been in rehearsals. I’m really curious to see how Jennifer does with a more upbeat dance.

  4. Rick claims that Cheryl told him jive was the most difficult dance, followed by quickstep. Though she also might have meant that jive would be the most difficult for him due to his sheer size.

  5. ive is very difficult for tall people cause they got long legs. But Rick is ex athelete and look very fit so he can pull it out.
