The last performance show of Dancing 13! If that’s not exciting enough guess what–it’s only an hour! Yes, you heard right! Freestyles, etc. coming at you tonight courtesy of your Top 3–Ricki, Rob, and J.R!
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough – Cha Cha Cha – Ricki was this season’s top overall scorer! Carrie Ann came in to help her with her cha cha. I’m not sure if it’s the new lighting–but something about this just isn’t sizzling like a great cha cha should. Everything else is good, but I can’t put my finger on what’s bringing it down. I think it’s the slower tempo as opposed to traditional quick cha cha’s. That was good though. Len called it action-packed, good timing, good rhythm, could have been more fluid, but it’s a dance worthy of the final. Bruno said she’s never been hotter and it was always very clean, but it lacked fluidity in a few parts. Carrie Ann says she was living the dance, not just performing it BUT her arms got weird. Confidence at its best. Steve Jones Tom Bergeron is rushing the judges for their comments. Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 27. 1-800-VOTE4-11. Derek’s won everytime he reached the finale.
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke – Waltz – Bruno helps the pair out. He thinks Rob has a real chance at winning. Very clean, but I think Rob is very awkward to watch in parts (hand motions, footwork, facial features). That didn’t really leave me that excited, and usually waltzes take me places. Bruno said he was flowing and blowing, loved the continuity of lines, but messed up the crossovers in the footwork. Carrie Ann called him the male Cinderella and she’s wowed. Len loved his posture but occasionally he got heavy and lost posture. It was simple but simply beautiful. Tom calls him Cinderfella! Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 27.
J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff – Cha Cha Cha – OF COURSE Len is the mentor and OF COURSE J.R. is last. Len came to work on J.R.’s hips, and he feels that the winner will be whomever wants it most. Len thinks it’s Karina’s year to win. WHAT A START FROM KARINA! And then J.R. comes out. He looks confused and very stiff. He’s walking! This is not smooth. There are a lot of little steps instead of big confident ones. J.R.’s musicality has improved so much though, and he doesn’t look lost, just not smooth. Not loving that-it was okay. 8’s across at best… Carrie Ann said the crowd loved him but his musicality was off. His arms were not presentable. She knows J.R. can come back. Len said it was brave that he did a lot of the dance solo, but it wasn’t that good. He was off time and messed up all throughout it. His enthusiasm got the better of him. Steven Tom is rushing again. Bruno said his intensity was right on the money, he loved the sexuality. He was out of place but handled it well.
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough – Freestyle – I love how they’re incorporating all of the different dances! Ridiculous choreography–salsa and quickstep! She lost it a little in the middle, but that was fantastic! Len said it was a lot of fun and she did a fantastic job. She lost it a tiny bit in the middle. Bruno said he loved the transition between the sexy salsa and the smooth quickstep. It was great fun. Carrie Ann said Ricki exploded. Her lifts were fantastic, except for the last one. Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 27. Night score is 54/60.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke – Freestyle – Cheryl admits that all of Rob’s best dances were slow, so she wants him to start off slow. She thinks their chemistry and crazy lifts will pull them ahead. Jazz music kicks it off. This is risky–usually when the underdog pulls off something not exciting they score poorly. This is okay, but it just looks like a quicksetp without hold. Better when it picks up speed. UGH MORE BUTT ACCENTING. Wow great lift at the end!!!!! It exceeded my expectations, but it wasn’t that exciting. Sorry! Bruno said it was brilliant all around. He is peaking at the right time. Carrie Ann said the freestyle wins or loses the competition for you. She said to “consider herself blown.” Ahem. Usually an “away” follows Carrie Ann… Len compliments Rob on giving it his all and giving his all to his family. That really wasn’t stellar. Expect 10’s anyway… Carrie Ann – 10 (UGH) Len – 10 Bruno – 10 – 30. HOLY SMOKES A 30. OH MY GOODNESS. WHOAH. WHAT. ??????? CORRUPTION! CORRUPTION!
J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff – Freestyle – Karina keeps freezing and is afraid. We’ll see if she gets it together! I love this song–Kat Deluna! This is good! Very Latin/hip hop oriented. J.R.’s really giving it his all. Did he knock Karina over or was she supposed to fall like that? What fun this is! Whoah that move at the end is a little controversial… That was so much fun! Carrie Ann says he’s winding up uh uh uh uh and does a dance. The lifts were “sick.” Len said Karina’s body and J.R.’s talent were revealed. Fantastic! Bruno loved it and is very excited.
