  1. With hip-hop being included I’d say its probably a good week for Len not to be around.

  2. Wow how bizarre. If you look at how the hashtag voting has been going on Twitter the last few days some of these dont make sense. Derek and Lea & Val and Sadie were the clear winners. Did they just throw their hands up and be like “screw it we’re picking em!”?! Janel and Artem should be great, ditto Alfonso and Cheryl. Michael and Witney doing such a campy dance? Ughhh.

  3. I get Flamenco and Charleston being added to put in styles similar to Ballroom and Latin, but Burlesque? LOL What the hell? Now this show is just reaching….

I mean, how does it benefit a pro like Val to be teaching Broadway? That appears to be much farther from his usual spectrum of dance than say the Mambo. I dunno, I’ve complained about these new non-ballroom/latin dance styles entering the show before, so I’m just not gonna bother go down this road again.

  4. I think they are pretty good pairings. I’d like to know who chose and assigned the dances though.

  5. I hope they realize that a lot of the DWTS viewers are also SYTYCD viewers and know what these other dance styles look like. I hope that they get some ‘Pros’ that are knowledgeable in the new dances to help the Pros from here. No one can be expected to be a Pro in all styles. I just want to see some really good dancing that is representative of what that particular dance style is supposed to look like. Hip Hop, Broadway, Bollywood, and Disco all have their own distinctive steps and styles, just as the Ballroom and Latin dances do.
