  1. Seems like it’s been quite a number of years since Daughtry had concerts in Europe and Asia.

  2. Seems like it’s been quite a number of years since Daughtry had concerts in Europe and Asia.

That number is about 0.5, as Daughtry toured Europe in March 2014.

Prior to that, Daughtry toured Europe two years ago, supporting Break the Spell.

The 17-month gap between the BTS stops in Europe and the Baptized stops in Europe was partly taken in U.S. touring and partly in making the new album.

Asia, the band may have played less recently, though it’s harder to document because sometimes Asia will be one-offs not included in any official tour.

  3. Oh, I didn’t realize Daughtry toured Europe just this past March and two years ago as well. Surprised he toured in Europe again so soon then.

  4. Just realized Kris has some history with Boyce Avenue. I’d rather see Kris w/o Boyce, however.

  5. Boyce Avenue has also recorded (but not toured, I don’t think) with several XFUSA people — Bea Miller, Cary Rose Sonneclare and Fifth Harmony

But Kris has several solo shows sprinkled in during this tour with BA. He also has a few solo shows lined up for January

  6. good sign for the start of the Kris/BA tour :) (venue capacity: 1,000)

Tickets are almost sold out for @BoyceAvenue tonight. Don’t sleep on these tickets people, this will sell out!

  7. Boyce Avenue were vocal coaches on XFUSA Seasons 2 and 3, they also collaborated with Diamond White and other

  8. New KAB lineup for Kris at his show w/ Boyce Avenue tonight, Kris, Cale Mills, Andrew St. Marie & Bradley Akerman on percussion (Cale’s roommate & fellow Arkansan).

  9. This is a homecoming of sorts. Kris played Cannery Ballroom twice in 2010: first on June 14 and then with Miranda Cosgrove on July 23.

  10. The place was absolutely packed. I was in the back of the room and literally could not see most of the stage because of the crowd. I saw on twitter someone said it was 1100 people — the venue capacity is listed at 1000 but I suppose that could be wrong. But It was pretty much wall-to-wall people. It was a very responsive crowd for all 3 acts, too. Really nice start to this tour.

  12. Oh and Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey were there. It’s nice that S8 contestants continue to support each other

  13. Those three are really supportive of each other. Adam has been to see Allison, and she’s been to his shows.

  14. yeah. I was wondering if he was at her show last night, esp. since Orianthi was there. But I don’t know if he’s even in L.A. right now… he seems to be in one city one day and somewhere else the next day, lol :) I know Kris went to one of Halo Circus’ shows when he was in L.A. awhile back, too. It has to be hard for any of the ex-Idols to try and keep up with each other, since everybody is busy with their own lives and careers, but it’s nice to see that so many of them are still in touch and want to be supportive, even if sometimes the schedules just don’t mesh.

  15. I don’t know many details, but it seems like Von Smith (Idol season 8 semifinalist) is currently joining Scott Bradlee and the Postmodern Jukebox as a guest performer for several East Coast tour dates this week (including Boston tonight).

Bradlee’s specialty is taking modern pop hits and reworking them in the style of older eras, and Smith’s been a guest on a few of his YouTube hits (e.g. a Motown-style performance of Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off”).

  16. what I remember about Von from that season is that he had a Broadway type voice and a throwback style, so this sounds like a good fit from him.

  17. FYI if you are going or thinking about going to one of Kris’ shows on this Boyce Avenue tour. Kris is the mid-level act. There is an opening act (it won’t be the same person every night); last night the opener did a 3-song set. So Kris came on about half an hour after the show started; he did a 40-45 min set

  18. Yes, that is true. He had a Broadway style but no vocal control – and no sense of dynamics – all at top volume, as you say. Perhaps he has learned better in the intervening years?

  19. David Cook’s latest guitarist, Daniel Damico, finally got a Twitter account – and sends out a tweet for the Saturday night (Oct 18th) concert in Iowa at Simpson College.

  21. Looks like another good crowd for Kris & Boyce Avenue tonight — they’re playing the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA

  22. Von petting a dog throughout Post Modern Jukebox’s Anaconda cover is the best part of that video. I’m not crazy about the next song that they did with Von on lead vocals.
