Clark Beckham and Hannah Everhart release “Give You Blue” track and music video

On American Idol season 14, Clark Beckham presented himself as a skilled blues singer and guitar player. On the show, he described honing his talent busking on the street corners of downtown Nashville. Post-Idol Clark continued to tour and record.

But now, he’s branching out. In his latest project, Clark produced and arranged an album of covers for His American Idol 2020 singer Hannah Everhart. The first song out from the set is “Give You Blue” by Allen Stone

In a recent interview with Music Mayhem magazine, the Top 25 singer  lamented that she sang pitchy on stage at times. Now, her goal is to show the world that she CAN sing. So, after American Idol season 19 wrapped in May, Clark took the singer under his wing.

Clark carefully watched Hannah’s season. As a Youtuber, he provided critiques and analysis of American Idol performances. His observations were both astute and technically proficient. But then, Clark did place second behind Nick Fradiani on his season of Idol.

Hannah “crushed” her cover of “Give You Blue” says Clark

“Loved producing and arranging a stripped down, single take only album for @thehannahjeverhart,” Clark wrote on Instagram. “The first single is a cover of “Give You Blue” by @allenstone,” He continued, gushing, “Follow her and see her crush. I don’t say that lightly. CRUSH.” Additionally, Clark produced a video performance for every song on Hannah’s album.

As an 18 year old who barely traveled outside of her small Mississippi hometown, Hannah needed a mentor. And Clark fit the bill. In the accompanying video, watch Clark advise Hannah on her vocal phrasing.

Working with Hannah is not a one-off deal

Clark is looking to collaborate with other artists, providing contact information for anyone interested in hiring him.

In the Music Mayhem interview, Hannah hypes her new friend:  “…if you want a nice guy to work with, that is Clark,” she said, “So I’m just glad that I got to meet him…and that he was the person who helped me with this, because I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else,…he is a musical genius.”

What else is going on with Clark

Currently, Clark is working on a short film called “An Old Song” produced by the faith based company, The Rich Production. In it, he plays a musician named Tyler who finds  redemption as he struggles with a drug addiction. He both acts and sings in the production. “An acting career is something that I’ve wanted and pursued for the last two or three years,” he said. The film also stars Jermaine Purifory who appeared on American Idol seasons 7 and 9.

Additionally, Clark will hit the road in September. The scheduled dates, which run through December, include concerts he cancelled due to the pandemic. Ticket info HERE.
