CBS Officially Announces Big Brother Fall Digital Only Edition

CBS has made it official. As media outlets reported recently, a digital edition of Big Brother will come this fall exclusively on CBS All Access, the network’s digital subscription on demand and live streaming service.

In addition to the CBS All Access edition this fall, Big Brother will continue to be broadcast on CBS Television Network during the summer. Big Brother host Julie Chen will also be part of the digital edition.

“Big Brother is an incredible success on the CBS Television Network and has always been ahead of its time when it comes to fan engagement,” said Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer, CBS Interactive. “Already, the Big Brother Live Feeds are some of the most popular content on CBS All Access and with this new digital edition we will explore ways to reimagine this format for multiplatform audiences.”

It will be interesting to see how the network tweaks the format to fit the all-digital platform.  Additional details for new digital edition of Big Brother will be announced at a later date–maybe next week at CBS Television Critics Association Press Tour day.

The series’ 18th season is currently airing Sundays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Thursdays (9:00-10:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT), which features the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen.
