Each week of the last two NFL seasons, Carrie’s performance of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” has kicked off the network’s Sunday Night Football.
If you think you’ve heard the song already? Listen again! The Super Bowl-centric opening theme contains NEW elements, including lyrics featuring the AFC champion New England Patriots and NFC champion Seattle Seahawks. No mention of DeflateGate however! Just kidding.
The video, which will be unveiled on Sunday before the big game, will feature a special set design.
“I’m so honored to again be a part of the Super Bowl, this time joining NBC Sports in helping kick everything off! I can’t wait to watch the game!” said Carrie.
The singer performed the National Anthem before Superbowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium in Miami in 2010.
