  1. AH SO EXCITED!
i love their oh, love duet so this will be amazing.
is there a release date? or will it be on his new album?

  2. Really cool. Two of my favorite country artists (although I only own an album by one of them (Brad) and have only ever been to one of their concerts (Carrie)…I should change that, lol). I’m trying to imagine in my mind how they’ll sound together because it’s not always just about getting the biggest names together to sing, but how well their voices work. I don’t generally think of Brad as having a “big” voice whereas Carrie definitely does at times.

But just rambling at this point anyways, lol…have to wait and see how it turns out!

  3. I’m shocked there is a duet! Kidding!:)

Great news, can’t wait to hear the song. Even thought it describes itself as being “about a husband and wife who are trying to rekindle their romance after years of being together” I wonder what the tone of the song will be. Serious and straightforward? Sly and humorous? So many directions it could go.

  4. AHHHHHHHHHHH I’m SO excited about this! I’m glad it’s a real duet. Brad’s been trying to keep it under wraps based on his vague answers to DJs about it, he’s just been saying there was something he wanted to cut to really make the album complete. According to Jimmy Carter this was recorded in Brad’s home studio. That goes along with the whole story about how his 4 year old Huck greeting Carrie with roses and impressing her with his feats of strength.

I’m really curious about that too. At 1st I thought it had to be a sad, serious ballad. I still lean that way but it could be sly too, that’d definitely be in Brad’s wheelhouse. Brad’s already got a cutesy/funny song on his album though called Toothbrush and it’ll be surprising if his duet with Blake Shelton isn’t funny because they’re 2 of country’s biggest jokesters.

They’ve actually sung together many times.

Make The World Go Away (Eddy Arnold tribute ACM Awards 2008)
Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man (from Carrie’s variety show special 2009)
Oh Love (from Brad’s album 5th Gear from 2007)

This is their 1st duet which happened when they toured together in 2006
Whiskey Lullaby (Carrie sings Alison Krauss’s part)

Also you’ve got all the little song parodies they’ve done together while cohosting the CMA Awards ;) I think they sound great together and I actually like that Carrie has to rein herself in when she sings with Brad.

There’s been some speculation, like from this DJ that the duet will be Brad’s next single. Brad didn’t play this song when he recorded Walmart Soundcheck though and he did play Toothbrush so maybe that’s what they’ve got lined up next. It looks like they haven’t given up on This Is Country Music hitting #1 yet so it might be at least a week before we find out for sure. Or we could find out something today because the Sony boat show for CRS is this evening.

  5. Really looking forward to this. I’m not a big Brad Paisley fan, but his duet with Alison Krauss on “Whiskey Lullaby” is one of my all-time favorite “need a good cry” songs. :-D

ETA: Just saw that he sang that with Carrie. Gotta go give it a listen!

ETA2: That was really nice. Nobody does heartbreaking like Alison IMHO, but Carrie and Brad sound really good together. I may need to check his solo stuff out.

ETA3: I just realized I have a few Brad Paisley songs on my iPod, from my sons “Cars” album!

  6. Exciting! I’ll have to check it out, though I don’t promise to like it. I really like Brad and Carrie, and enjoy some of each of their songs, but I’m not a fan of traditional country (hee), so I’m curious to hear what kind of duet it will be.
