Brynn Cartelli Drops by the Kelly Clarkson Show
The Voice season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli made history when she became the youngest person to win the competition on Team Kelly Clarkson. Now, the young singer is promoting a new EP on Elektra Records titled Based on a True Story that’s out everywhere May 28.
And lucky for Brynn, her former coach Kelly has a talk show where she can share details about her life and music. Brynn dropped by The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday (May 14) where the two caught up. While in Los Angeles, Brynn and her mom stayed at Kelly’s house.
Brynn reveals that she first auditioned for The Voice at 13 years old, but nobody turned. Fortunately, Kelly was a coach the next time she tried. As fate would have it, Brynn ended up being the new coach’s first turn, before the duo won the show together.
During the interview, Kelly embarrassed Brynn a little, airing a clip of the singer crying inconsolably about turtles and Frozen characters, while still high after a wisdom teeth extraction.
About her album, Brynn calls the songs she wrote a documentary of her life after The Voice. Her single “If I Could” is about defending her friends, she shares.
Brynn Cartelli moves Kelly Clarkson to tears with a rendition of “If I Could”
Watch Brynn Cartelli perform her poignant new single “If I Could” as she accompanies herself on guitar. The song is from her new EP Based On A True Story. Afterward, Kelly is in tears as she exclaims “Are you serious?” Kelly calls Brynn a “broken, soulful angel” before telling her audience when the record will be available (May 28!)
